Home (Who We Are)This is just a little about each member of the band and what we have to say.
Brian RettieVocals and Guitar
Brian collects various forms of tigers, most of which are displayed in his living room. He enjoys several kinds of art, crafts and design work. He also works jigsaw puzzles and watches a lot of movies. If you feel like taking him out to eat, you'll want to stay away from any authentic Mexican restaurant and Schlotsky's Deli. Peeking into his CD player you might see Andrew Peterson's "Christmas" CD, U2's brand new release, or Dead Poetic's "New Medicine". On weekends he'll probably be watching movies, working one of those jigsaw puzzles, or playing a little piano. Amongst his favorite Bible passages is Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. Brian says, "To me, this is the best possible verse to live by. It encourages me to put my trust in the Lord, and not to count on myself for anything. And if I make God a part of every area of my life, He promises to lead me in the way I should go - to direct my path. That's an awesome way to live!" When asked about his salvation experience and what it means to be a Christian, here's what Brian had to say: "I was five years old in kindergarten at Brightwood Christian Academy, and had just heard the message of salvation in a chapel service. I realized that I could have Jesus living in my heart if I would just ask him to. So at recess that same day, I went to my teacher, Mrs. Anderson, and she lead me in a prayer." "Later, at age 14, again at a chapel service (this time at Vandalia Christian School), I heard the message of salvation and realized that there was much more to being a Christian than just saying a prayer. I went home that day and made a decision to live my life in a way that would be pleasing to Jesus Christ." "Being a Christian, to me, means having a personal relationship with the living God and walking with Him every day. A Christian must be careful not to forget about God when every thing is going well. And not put Him in a box either, taking Him out whenever we need Him. It's very real. It's very personal. It affects everything else that I claim to be. As a Christian I believe I must be a witness to those around me, all the time; not just waking up and thinking, 'I think I'll witness to someone today,' or, 'I think I'll be a testimony of God's love today.' No. Rather, I should strive to be His witness every day. For it is every day that I claim to have Jesus and His Holy Spirit living within me. Personally, Jesus is my Deliverer, my Comforter, and my Friend." Harold PridgenBass and Background Vocals
A little about Harold: He enjoys fishing quite a bit, but also hunts (archery and conventional weapons) and loves to ride his motorcycle. If you'd like to take Harold out to eat some evening, avoid Bojangles, and any sushi restaurant, since he must have his fish cooked well. If you were to take a look in his CD player, you might find Jeremy Camp's "Stay", Disciple's "By God", or Corrosion of Conformity's "Wiseblood". Interesting blend. Wouldn't you say? On weekends he'll likely be hunting or fishing and always taking time to praise the Lord - as he does every other day as well. One of his favorite passages of Scripture is I Thessalonians 4:16-17: "For the Lord Himself will come down from Heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." -- NIV Harold says, "Think about it! With the Lord forever! It couldn't possibly get better than that!" When asked about his salvation experience and what it means to be a Christian, here's what Harold had to say: "I was down and out emotionally. Drugs were an everyday thing. ... two failed marriages, all the bars, rock-n-roll bands, and yet another lost girlfriend, ... well, you get the picture. Through all the years of searching for the next thing to get me by, I hadn't yet thought of Jesus. I just wasn't raised that way. But a few good friends and a heavy heart told me the way to go. I turned to Jesus in April of 2003 at age 36. I told Him that I didn't have much. But what I did have was His. I asked Him to forgive me for all those wretched, sinful years, and to help me become the man that He wanted me to be. Well, anyway, this was supposed to be brief. But brief cannot describe what my Lord and Saviour has done for me. If it were not for Him, there would be no me. And I don't know if I will ever be the man He wants me to be. But I promised Him I would try. And so far, He has blessed my efforts greatly." "If you're reading this and have not accepted Jesus, I urge you to do so. He loves you more than anyone on this earth ever could. He died for us. The very least we can do is live for Him. I think that being a Christian means spreading God's Word, encouraging others, loving one another, praying for one another, and being an example for the lost. We must minister to them and tell them that Jesus is waiting for them with open arms." "Jesus is everything to me. He is my Saviour, my friend, my Lord, and my King. Like I said before, without Him, there would be no me." Brent HarrisLead Guitar
A little about Brent: He is married with two wonderful sons. The men of the family have been racing motorcross for about six years and Brent has loved the sport since he was a kid. This also may have something to do with why he enjoys being a technician at Smith-Stokes. When he's not wrapped up with the racing, you might find him down at the lake, wake boarding or just chillin', listening to some Disciple, Day of Fire, or Third Day. If you're ever feeding him, do him a favor and avoid black olives and raw sushi. Brent's favorite Scripture would have to be John 3:16, which reads, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." He says that all Scriptures may not be very clear, but this one sure is. When asked about his salvation experience and what it means to be a Christian, here's what Brent had to say: "I was first saved at the age of 12, when my brother passed away at the early age of 15. That made me realize that the Lord can take us at any time He wishes. Throughout my teenage years, I was in and out of rock 'n' roll bands, but I never felt fulfilled like I do when I play for the Lord. He has blessed me with musical talent and I am grateful for Til the End (TTE) taking me in so I can use my talent to glorify the Lord. I think to be a Christian means doing my best to follow God's will for my life and reading the Bible, so that God can speak to me. Thanks also to all who support TTE, so that we may 'make a joyful noise unto the Lord' (Psalms 100:1)." Chad BuieDrums, Percussion, and Background Vocals
A little about Chad: He really likes to fish, but also likes to build things and surf the web. If you'd like to offer Chad a meal sometime, please avoid feeding him raw carrots and celery. He'll pretty much eat anything else. If you were to pop open his CD player, you may find Third Day's "Offering", some Tourniquet, or perhaps Redbelly. I'd say he's quite a diverse listener. Wouldn't you? On weekends he spends some of his time camping, canoeing, eating out, or attending church - but mostly fishing, or spending time with his wonderful wife at home. He says he has many favorite passages of Scripture. But one of them is Romans 5:20: "But, where sin abounded, grace did much more abound." Chad says, "It, [Romans 5:20], reminds me that sin is not as powerful as God's grace." When asked about his salvation experience and what it means to be a Christian, here's what Chad had to say: "I was saved at age 26. My daughter went to be with the Lord at 19 months of age and I turned to God for comfort. It was during these troubled times that His amazing grace saved my soul. To be a Christian means being filled with the Spirit of God and knowing that I have His Comforter with me always. I never knew until I was saved what it was like to ask God for something and actually get answers. He truly is a personal Saviour!" |
